Free Wild Food, Wildly Being Well Group

Foraging for wellbeing on Arran

2 hrUsually meeting at Heather Lodge, but some excursions happen. Check your emails

Service Description

We meet each Sunday at 2pm to forage together. We focus on wellbeing and nature connection through wild food. These sessions are part of Wellbeing in Nature with Heather Lodge, they are fully funded and free to attend. In Wild Food, Wildly Being Well we will follow the seasonal cycle of foraging for plants, fungi and seaweed. Through this cycle, we learn to adapt to the different foods on offer and how to identify, harvest and prepare them. Sessions will cover the basics of how to keep yourself perfectly safe while enjoying the benefits of wild food. You will learn to work with wild food to enhance your sense of belonging, purpose, self-esteem and wellbeing through a greater connection with nature and ourselves. Led by Zoë Le Fay, a qualified Mental Health Nurse & member of the Association of Foragers, each session will focus on creating a supportive and non-judgemental environment. Wild Food, Wildly Being Well urges us all to “come as you are” with the knowledge that however you are in this moment is perfect, and ALL are welcome in the wild.
