Winter Forage at Arran Farmers Market

A unique opportunity to learn about some of the wild food Arran has to offer during the winter months. In this short walk we'll cover everything you need to know to safely forage in any season under the guidance of expert Wild Food Educator, Zoë. Join us in a fun and family friendly search for wintery delights.

Late in the year plants usually send their goodness deep into the ground to conserve energy for winter, but with a skillful eye and some knowhow you can learn to forage even in winter.

This event is short and sweet at just one hour long.The pace will be slow, with plenty of stops for tasting, discovering and discussing. The terrain is a mixture of tarmac tracks and muddy paths.

The walk is open to all age groups. Children under 16 are free of charge but will need to be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are very welcome at all Wild Food Arran walks, providing they are happy to be around groups of excited people. Things you will need to bring:

• A bag or basket for your treasures along the way.
• Warm and waterproof clothes, a decent coat at least.
• Wellies or other comfy waterproof shoes.
• Notepad or phone to take notes and pictures.

All Wild Food Arran foraging walks will go ahead in wet weather. Only storms or dangerous winds will lead to cancellations. I recommend coming prepared for rain. Please read through the Terms and Conditions and Cancellation Policy for more info.
