About the event

To celebrate the Autumn Equinox I will be launching my first ever comprehensive foraging walk. I'm so excited for you to join me in the forest to observe the seasons turning.

Arran is an island rich in history and wildlife. On this Forest Walk we will delve into the wild food of Arran’s forests, discovering the ancient flavours and learning how to confidently identify the plants we encounter.

This walk will provide a comprehensive introduction to foraging, including greater detail than Wild Food Arran’s other walks. We will also cover more plant species in this 2.5 hour walk than the other walks. This is the event for serious foragers who are absolute beginners and improvers. The pace and terrain of this walk will be moderate. See my other events for easy terrain walks.

We will look at broader plant families to help you get a handle on identification as we glimpse into the world of abundance, here on Arran. You will end the walk armed with tools and resources to continue your foraging journey to new levels.

Starting and finishing the walk in the car park, we will climb a steep hill to a stunning waterfall, and back down into the valley in search of the season’s bounty. Please wear comfortable and sturdy outdoor clothes and always prepare for mud and rain. All children must be supervised by an adult and well behaved dogs are welcome.
